Your shortlist

The actual list of places you save is stored in your browser on that device. It is not copied into a Neighbourhood Finds account or central shortlist database. It remains there until you remove the places or clear that browser's site data.

When you add or remove a heart, an anonymous analytics event records the place, its category, the neighbourhood, and the resulting shortlist size. This helps identify useful places and categories without collecting your name or email.

Site analytics

PostHog is used to understand page visits and interactions such as searches, category and area filters, place views, Maps clicks, shortlist actions, and external ordering or booking-link clicks. Standard browser, device, referring-page, and anonymous visitor information may accompany those events. Session recording is disabled, and Neighbourhood Finds does not create visitor profiles. Anonymous web-vitals measurements and technical browser-error details are also collected so loading problems and broken interactions can be found. Recommendation text and shortlist contents are not attached to browser-error reports.

Community recommendations

A recommendation stores the place or venue name, the details you enter, an optional public source link, its review status, and timestamps. General map tips do not ask for your name or email. Word of Mouth recommendations also store your chosen display name, neighbourhood, recommended dish and your permission to display the contribution. Those recommendations stay private until reviewed. Only approved Word of Mouth recommendations are displayed with the name you chose; private review notes are never shown. No email address is requested. Choose a display name you are comfortable making public.

Newsletter subscriptions

“Subscribe to weekly newsletter” opens the dedicated Neighbourhood Finds page on Substack. Substack handles signup, subscription confirmation, delivery and unsubscribing under its own terms and privacy policy. Neighbourhood Finds does not collect an email address in this form, store a separate copy of your email, or send it to analytics.

Ordering and booking links

Order and booking buttons open the provider directly. You do not need to connect a Swiggy account here. Orders, reservations, payments and provider sign-in take place on the provider's app or website.

We measure outbound clicks using a random click identifier, venue or scene, neighbourhood, provider and button location. PostHog receives the click event; our server can also record a matching technical receipt without a name, phone number, saved address or payment details. These are click measurements, not proof of an app open, order or booking. Confirmed conversion reporting is not currently available. This outbound tracking respects Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control and PostHog opt-out preferences.

Optional Swiggy connection

When you select must-try items and choose to add them to a cart, the optional connection uses Swiggy's own authorization screen. Neighbourhood Finds stores the access token encrypted, gives the browser only an opaque secure cookie, and limits the session to five days. Disconnecting deletes the stored session, and an automatic daily cleanup removes expired authorization state and sessions.

The integration reads saved delivery-address labels, live restaurant availability and menu items only after you open the cart flow. It updates a Swiggy cart only after you confirm the exact items. It cannot place an order or book a table, and it never chooses payment. If an existing cart contains items, it asks before replacing that cart. Swiggy and District links then take you to those providers, where their own privacy terms apply.

Your controls

• Remove individual hearts or clear this site's browser data to erase the local shortlist.
• Use the Swiggy disconnect control, once available, to delete the encrypted session immediately.
• Use the community correction form to identify a recommendation you want reviewed or removed.
• Block or clear analytics storage using your browser's privacy controls.
