8 Best Burger Joints in Bangalore
Smash burgers, fried chicken and small neighbourhood favourites collected over six years in the city.

I’ve collected this list over six years of living in Bangalore, eating my way around the city and taking recommendations from friends. These are eight burger joints worth making a trip for, with the orders to keep in mind and the seating and reservation details that help you plan.
Some are full dine-in restaurants. Others are tiny counters or a food truck with outdoor tables. Pick one for your next meal and go hungry.

1. Beyondburg
Beyondburg is usually the first name that comes to mind when someone asks me for a serious burger in Bangalore.
It is known for meat-forward smash burgers, which have thinner patties and crisp edges, along with brisket and deli-style sandwiches.
The Swiss Cheese Burger is the recommendation I hear most often. It combines the patty with mushrooms and Swiss cheese. The Brisket Whopper is richer and more filling.
Brisket (a cut of meat from the lower chest that is cooked slowly until tender) brings a deeper, smokier flavour than a standard minced patty. The pastrami sandwich also deserves attention if you are open to ordering outside the burger menu.
Beyondburg has proper dine-in outlets, including Indiranagar and St. Mark’s Road.
Famous for: Smash burgers, slow-cooked brisket and deli-style sandwiches
Order: Swiss Cheese Burger or Brisket Whopper
Setup: Full dine-in restaurant
Reservation: Available but not essential. Walk-ins may have to wait on busy evenings.
2. Guerilla Diner
Guerilla Diner is a tiny restaurant on Cambridge Road with roughly twelve seats.
It is best known for simple smash burgers that focus on the patty, onions, cheese and bun. The Oklahoma Onion Smash is the dish I hear about most.
The Oklahoma style has an interesting history. During the Depression years of the late 1920s and 1930s, cooks in Oklahoma pressed shredded onions into burger patties to make expensive beef go further. That practical solution eventually became the Oklahoma onion burger, a regional speciality that remains popular today.
The Purist is the more stripped-back option if you want to focus on the patty itself.
This is the one place on the list where planning is compulsory. Guerilla Diner operates through fixed reservation slots and does not accept walk-ins. It also does not operate like a conventional takeaway or delivery kitchen.
Famous for: Simple, well-executed smash burgers
Order: Oklahoma Onion Smash or The Purist
Setup: Approximately twelve-seat diner
Reservation: Required. Do not arrive without a confirmed slot.
3. Smash Guys
Smash Guys has expanded across Indiranagar, Bellandur, RMV, Whitefield and HSR.
Their red-meat burgers are among the most talked-about items on the menu. They are listed as buff or lamb rather than beef. The popular ones include the Oklahoma Smash, Chilli Cheese Smash, PB & Bacon Smash and OG Smash.
I would order the Oklahoma Smash first. It comes with onions, American cheese, pickles and their smash sauce. The Chilli Cheese Smash is heavier and spicier, while the PB & Bacon Smash has that sweet and salty combination.
Famous for: Chicken burgers, smash burgers and milkshakes
Order: Chilli Cheese Chicken or Oklahoma Smash. Old Monk Mousse is a must-try.
Setup: Casual dine-in restaurant with multiple outlets
Reservation: No advance reservations at the outlets I know. Walk in and expect a possible wait at peak hours.
4. Kried
Kried operates from a converted food truck with a small outdoor café setup.
It focuses on fried chicken and paneer burgers. Here, the crunch, seasoning and sauce matter more than the thin patty and crisp edges you would look for in a smash burger.
The menu includes the Nice Guy, Player, Guntur Kaaram, Bhoot Jolokia and Hot Gochujang burgers.
The Player Chicken Burger is a good first order. It combines crispy chicken with spicy and garlicky sauces. The Hot Gochujang Chicken brings together sweet, spicy and tangy flavours.
Kried is a walk-in and pre-order setup. Pre-orders are periodically opened through Instagram, which can help you avoid a long wait. Walk-ins are possible, but the food-truck format means limited seating and queues at busy times.
Famous for: Crispy fried chicken and paneer burgers
Order: Player Chicken or Hot Gochujang Chicken
Setup: Food truck with outdoor tables
Reservation: No table reservations. Pre-order when available or walk in.
5. Bunco
When I went to Bunco, I was not there for the burger.
I had one of their chicken sandwiches. I cannot remember the exact name, but it was genuinely good. The bread was fresh, the chicken was well prepared and the sandwich felt carefully put together.
While I was eating, I overheard people nearby raving about the UFC Burger. That was the first time I had heard of it, and the name stayed with me.
The HSR outlet is a small bakery-counter setup with only a few outdoor chairs. It works best for one or two people. Treat it as a walk-in or takeaway stop rather than a place for a long group meal.
Famous for: French Toast and the UFC Chicken Smash Burger
Order: Spicy UFC Chicken Smash Burger
Setup: Small bakery counter with limited outdoor seating
Reservation: Walk in or take away. Do not rely on finding a table.
6. Midwest Burger Co.
Midwest Burger Co. began as a small cloud kitchen and now has two Bangalore locations.
It specialises in American-style smash burgers. The Oklahoma Fried Onion Burger is the standout recommendation.
The portions are also generous compared with some of the more expensive burger restaurants in the city.
The format depends on the location. Whitefield has been associated with its cloud-kitchen and delivery operation, while its Kalyan Nagar presence has functioned more like a takeaway counter with a few chairs. Confirm the setup before travelling specifically for dine-in.
Famous for: American-style smash burgers and generous portions
Order: Oklahoma Fried Onion Burger or Chilli Cheese Burger
Setup: Cloud-kitchen roots, with takeaway and limited seating depending on the outlet
Reservation: Not required. Confirm the dine-in setup before travelling.
7. The Burgery In
The Burgery In is located around Jeevan Bhima Nagar, although many people group it with Indiranagar.
It is known for rich smash burgers, buff patties and brisket. The L.A. Legendary Smash, Oklahoma Smash and Ultimate Smash are the orders recommended most often.
These burgers are heavy and filling. They are better eaten at the restaurant because smash burgers lose their crisp edges and structure during a long delivery.
Famous for: Large, meat-forward smash burgers and slow-cooked brisket
Order: L.A. Legendary Smash or Ultimate Smash
Setup: Full dine-in restaurant with delivery
Reservation: Treat it as a walk-in. Call ahead for a large group or weekend dinner.
8. Sanky’s Burger House
Sanky’s Burger House is located on Hennur Main Road and has been around longer than many of Bangalore’s newer smash-burger brands.
It is known for large, filling burgers and has a loyal following in north Bangalore. These are closer to old-school burgers, with larger portions, thicker fillings and more toppings.
The menu covers classic chicken and buff burgers, pulled buff, peri-peri chicken and heavier combinations such as the Shadie Phat.
The Classic Buff Burger is the straightforward place to begin. The Pulled Buff Burger or Shadie Phat would suit someone looking for a heavier order.
Famous for: Large burgers and a loyal north-Bangalore following
Order: Classic Buff Burger, Pulled Buff Burger or Shadie Phat
Setup: Casual neighbourhood dine-in with takeaway and delivery
Reservation: Usually unnecessary. Walk in or call ahead for a large group.
Burgers are filling, and one is usually enough, so I wouldn’t attempt a full burger crawl. But every place on this list is worth crossing the city for.
This is a carefully curated list of my favourites, not an exhaustive guide to every burger in Bangalore.
If I’ve missed a popular name or an underrated spot, let me know.
